Upgrade Your Self-Esteem

Growing up, my mother always taught me to love myself and to know my worth. This became easier said than done when I began to gain weight around the age of 19. Since that time, I dealt with my weight issue for the years to follow. My self-esteem began to sink even lower. I was upset with myself yet sad at the same time. I couldn't believe I allowed myself to get to the point of thinking that I wasn't beautiful when I knew I was. At the time, I didn't realize I could change  the things that made me unhappy.

At 24 years old, I have finally rid myself of unnecessary baggage and negative thinking. I literally looked in the mirror, evaluated who I was, and what I wanted to be. I decided to tell myself everyday that I was beautiful and that I could do anything that I set my mind to do. I learned to love myself the best way possible on the inside; the physical would eventually come later. Today, I strive to let girls and women know that they are worth so much and that we are all beautiful despite our flaws. When it comes to an issue like your weight, it is something that can be changed. However, you have to want the change for yourself. We have to upgrade our thinking process to positive which will then upgrade our self-esteem. We all have something we don't like about ourselves but we aren't perfect. Never will be. We just have to make the most of it.
