About GLM

Girls Like Me, Inc. was founded by Elisa Wiah in 2007 when she was just 17 years old. GLM started off as an interactive online magazine where girls could have a haven online that provided positive images of girls and women like themselves.
In 2012, GLM took root in Philadelphia, PA through philanthropy with GLM's 1st Annual Doll Drive, a holiday toy and gift drive for girls and their families in need. Soon after, the charitable act was taken a step further and the first group mentoring event, College Prep 101, was held to prepare high school girls for college life. Since then, the purpose of GLM has consistently been to help young girls by providing group mentoring and resources. We want to help girls accomplish their goals, share their voices, and empower them to lead well-rounded lives.
As Girls Like Me, Inc. continues to evolve, our hope is that GLM will be an organization that specializes in providing exceptional group mentoring experiences that encourage girls and women to dream worldwide.
